The idea is simple. Here is a little more about how it works.
MASAR is a marketplace for paid, one-to-one video conversations with people who have firsthand experience of a university, degree, employer or career path. You book a set amount of someone’s time and ask what you actually want to know.
Anyone with relevant lived experience who is 18 or older and passes our review, not only professional mentors or senior experts. A second-year student can be exactly the right person for someone choosing a degree. Guides apply with their LinkedIn profile, and we review every application by hand.
Guides set their own prices and session lengths, from 15 to 90 minutes. You see the guide, the length, the time in your time zone and the total price in US dollars before you pay. There is no subscription and no hidden fee: MASAR’s 10% comes out of the guide’s price.
Right inside MASAR, in your browser. No app to install. The room opens 10 minutes before the start. We log when each person joins and leaves, and with both people’s permission the call is transcribed as text (never recorded on video), so any problem can be resolved fairly.
No. You pay for a person’s time and honest perspective, not for an outcome. Guides speak for themselves, not for their university or employer, and selling referrals or influence is not allowed on MASAR.
Cancel up to 24 hours before for a full refund, or move the session once. If a guide cancels or doesn’t show up, you get a full refund. If something else goes wrong, report it within 24 hours; the guide isn’t paid until our team has reviewed it.
Read the refunds and cancellations policyEvery guide applies with their LinkedIn profile and is reviewed by our team before they can take bookings. To be paid, guides also verify their identity with Stripe, our payments partner. Reviews come only from people who completed a paid session. None of this guarantees expertise, so read profiles and ask good questions.
