The idea
MASAR exists so that someone facing a decision can talk honestly with someone who has already made it. That only works if experience is described truthfully, conversations are respectful, confidential things stay confidential, and nobody is sold an outcome.
What we expect
- Be honest about your experience. Say what you actually did and when. If you've moved on, say so.
- Be respectful. Treat the other person the way you'd want to be treated in your own big decision.
- Be on time and present. A session is someone's reserved time.
- Stay on topic. Sessions are for experience and questions, not for selling other services.
- Protect other people's information. Colleagues, classmates and former employers didn't agree to be discussed.
Not allowed
Dishonesty and impersonation
- Pretending to be someone else, or claiming a role, degree, employer or result you don't have
- Fake, paid-for or swapped reviews
- Suggesting a university or employer endorses you
- Promising admission, a referral, an interview or a job
Harassment and harm
- Harassment, bullying, threats or hateful conduct
- Discrimination based on race, religion, nationality, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or age
- Stalking, or contacting someone after they've asked you to stop
- Sharing or threatening to share someone's private information
Sexual content
- Offering, asking for or arranging sexual services, or sexual remarks or content in sessions, messages or profiles
Scams and misuse
- Fraud, phishing, or asking for payment outside MASAR
- Selling or sharing accounts
- Spam, or recruiting people to other platforms during sessions
- Collecting other people's personal data, or attacking MASAR's systems
Confidentiality and integrity
- Sharing an employer's, client's or school's confidential information or documents
- Sharing private interview questions, exam papers or assessment content
- Helping anyone cheat, writing assessed work for them, or preparing a fraudulent application
- Offering or asking for bribes, or selling referrals or influence
Regulated advice
Talking about what it's like to study medicine, work in finance or practise law is exactly what MASAR is for. Giving medical treatment advice, investment recommendations, legal advice, immigration advice or tax advice that needs a licence you don't have is not. Guides should say when a question crosses that line and suggest a qualified professional.
Recording and transcription
MASAR never records video or audio. Calls are transcribed as text only if both people agree when they join, and either person can decline. Don't record, screenshot or transcribe a call any other way, or use an AI note-taker, unless everyone has agreed and the law allows it. Secret recording is a serious breach.
Staying safe
- A session never needs your home address, financial details or ID documents.
- Never send or ask for money outside MASAR.
- If a conversation makes you uncomfortable, you can leave. Then report it.
Reporting
Report a profile from its page, or report a problem with a session from the session page. Tell us what happened and when. Reports are confidential: the person won't be told who reported them. You'll never be penalised for reporting in good faith.
How we review reports
We look at the evidence available, including profiles, messages, booking details and call records, and we usually hear from the person reported before deciding, unless that would put someone at risk. We don't watch or listen to calls, so reports are how most problems reach us.
What can happen
Depending on what happened and any history: no action, a warning, a required profile change, removal of content or reviews, limits on messaging or bookings, suspension, or permanent removal. Serious safety issues can lead to immediate removal. Refunds follow the Refunds & Cancellations policy.
Appeals
If we take action against your account, we'll tell you what we decided and why, unless the law stops us. You can ask us to review it through the contact page, and someone who wasn't involved in the first decision will look at it.
